IT support for dental and medical practices in Austin

A practice that cannot see patients is not losing productivity, it is losing revenue by the hour — and unlike most businesses, you have a regulator with an opinion about how you store your data.

What we do for you

  • Practice management and imaging system monitoring, with vendor liaison
  • Network segmentation so imaging hardware cannot reach the rest of the practice
  • HIPAA security-rule risk analysis, documentation and annual review
  • Encrypted workstations, enforced MFA and per-user audit logging
  • Immutable backups with restores tested and evidenced
What's different here

The parts generic IT support gets wrong

Your practice management system is the business

Open Dental, Dentrix, Eaglesoft, athenahealth — when that server or that cloud connection is down, the schedule stops. We monitor it specifically rather than treating it as one application among many, and we know which vendor to call.

Imaging is heavy, old and fragile

Sensors, pan units and intraoral cameras often run on software the manufacturer stopped updating years ago. Isolating those machines properly is usually the single largest risk reduction available to a practice.

The security rule is not optional

HIPAA requires a documented risk analysis, access controls, audit logging, encryption and a workforce training record. It is common to find a template somebody downloaded and nobody implemented.

Ransomware closes practices

The published cases are not hypothetical, and the practices that recovered quickly had immutable, tested backups. That is the entire difference.

Scope

What we take on

  • Practice management and imaging system monitoring, with vendor liaison
  • Network segmentation so imaging hardware cannot reach the rest of the practice
  • HIPAA security-rule risk analysis, documentation and annual review
  • Encrypted workstations, enforced MFA and per-user audit logging
  • Immutable backups with restores tested and evidenced
  • Business associate agreement in place before we touch anything

We handle the technical safeguards and the documentation the security rule asks for. We sign a business associate agreement as a matter of course. We are not attorneys, and where you need a compliance attorney or a privacy officer we will tell you plainly.

FAQ

Questions people ask

Will you sign a BAA?
Yes, before we are given access to anything. It is a condition of us working with a covered entity, not an upsell.
Can you work with our practice management vendor?
Yes. We hold the relationship and make the call so your office manager is not on hold with a software vendor during a full schedule.
We have multiple locations. Does that change things?
It changes the network design and the identity setup, mostly for the better — a single sign-on across sites and a consistent build makes multi-location practices much easier to support than people expect.

A 15-minute call, then a two-hour on-site assessment and a written picture of your environment. The findings are yours to keep whether or not you hire us.
